A Crash Course on Authenticity | Reclaiming Your Soul, Inner Truth, and Sovereignty
You look for yourself in other people, things, locations, and possessions that you want to fill into the definition of your worth because you have been made to believe that your identity is an amalgamation of all the things that demonstrate what you have attained.
The “you” player that interacts with reality is the one you have devised for the game, but there is also a “you” that lives beneath the screen and makes the reality real...
You either accept wholeheartedly the authentic nature of self or you shift into the mode of the shadow, fueled by low-worthiness and anchored by the baggage of the past in order to fight for approval by gaining external tokens of worth that will never prove to the soul the acceptance of your mission, that is, to realize the real you.
If you know who you are and derive worth from the pursuit of a higher purpose, you will not feel any purpose in proving yourself through the acquisition of what you think it will take to be recognized in that way.
The recognition we should be seeking is tied to the legacy we can impart by allowing the true nature of self to be our reflection.
When we linger in the shadow self, we defy the acceptance of who we are. If we are not aligned in our thoughts, in our word, and in our deeds, we will never feel aligned in the core state of being.
We do not consciously form the shadow, but we densify it by evading the need for growth. Personal impurities are purified by lovingly holding the shadow.
Unless we do so, we will be reliving the traumatized state of the inner child that first felt the need to hide by wearing the cloak of insincerity.
In truth, we can never hide from our true awareness that tells us what we want and who we are; dismissing it creates a sense of inner resentment that unfolds in an eternal quest for more to fill the void that can only be filled when the quest is brought within.
