This comes courtesy of Riya, Collette and of course, Phaction.
Alex was asked by them to do a remix of one of the recent Album Tunes, 'Carnelian' taken from their sensational LP 'Two Sides to Everything' which was released in September.
Phaction is fast becoming an in-demand remixer: he has a great knack of sticking by the artist's original vision of the tune, but drawing out the extra special moments and then putting his own stamp on it.
With this as yet unheard remix, he designs a fresh and vibrant bass-line using Serum and some personal favourite processing tools, setting this against his own crafted drumwork.
Alex is a music production tutor and this really comes through in his delivery style and ability to articulate his thinking.
A thoroughly informative and interesting 2 hours, teaching not only how you can approach a remix, but many aspects of production and sound design too.
