Breaking! Cubs Ink Staumont
The Cubs sign free-agent righty Josh Staumont. The Twins released the reliever recently after designating him for assignment. Staumont will pitch for the Cubs’ Triple-A affiliate in Iowa.
The 30 yearold carried 3.70 ERA in 24 1/3 innings with Minnesota before being cut loose.
