In our latest dyno test we have this 2024 F44 BMW M235i xDrive Gran Coupe in for tuning and testing. After quick installation of our 3 Channel Pro Petrol chip tuning box, it was up on the rollers to see what the engine could achieve.
As this car shares the same underpinnings with the likes of the M135ix or the MINI JCW variants that we have already seen a lot of on this channel, we know this variant of the B48 is very capable. Our linked, braked 4wd dyno suited perfectly here for BMWs All-wheel drive xDrive system.
It’s also worth mentioning that these vehicles currently have a locked ECU with no way to read or write the ECU data. This means that while traditional remapping is impossible, our tuning box can give owners the opportunity to make fantastic gains without requiring a traditional ECU flash. This has the added benefit of being traceless once removed for warranty purposes.

Dyno testing before and after shows healthy gains across the rev range, with a significant increase in power and torque, really transforming how it feels to drive.
Peak power was increased, as we were able to lift it from 307hp at stock, up to 349hp with the box. If you take a look at the dyno graph here 0:45 you can see how we change that curve (dotted red and blue lines). We give real consistency here, bringing that extra power in as soon as possible, whilst holding it for as long as possible throughout the rev range. We lift the whole of that mid-section where you can really see that noticeable difference, whilst adding that +42hp at its peak.
Torque also saw some impressive improvements. At stock the engine produced 475Nm and now 538Nm with the box. If you take another look at the graph (solid lines), you can really see where we have applied those gains. Again looking across that whole portion of the mid-range, you can really see exactly where its lifted, adding the +63Nm extra at its peak, delivering that increase exactly where it’s needed.
