Ford Transit Custom 2.0 182/185ps Dyno Test – Bluespark Tuning Box

For our latest dyno test we have this 2022 Ford Transit Custom 320 2.0 185hp in for tuning and testing. After quick installation of our Pro + Boost chip tuning box, it was up on the rollers to see what the engine could achieve.
These vehicles, including this 2022 Transit Custom uses the SID212 ECU, which all Ford Transits have used since late 2019 onwards. This ECU can’t currently be remapped due to security protection within the ECU’s software. This means that while traditional remapping is impossible, our tuning box can give owners the opportunity to make fantastic gains without requiring a traditional ECU flash. This has the added benefit of being traceless once removed for warranty purposes.
Dyno testing before and after shows healthy gains across the rev range, with a significant increase in power and torque, really transforming how the Transit feels to drive.
Peak power was increased, as we were able to lift it from 180hp at stock, up to 209hp with the box. If you take a look at the dyno graph here 0:40 you can see how we change that curve (dotted red and blue lines). We give real consistency here, bringing that extra power in as soon as possible, whilst holding it for as long as possible throughout the rev range. Pay attention to that mid-section, where you can really see that noticeable difference, whilst adding that +29hp at its peak, really transforming how it feels out on the road.
Torque also saw some great improvements. At stock the engine produced 417Nm and now 457Nm with the box. If you take another look at the graph (solid lines), you can really see where we have applied those gains. Holding for much longer across that rev range, you can really see that consistency, adding the +40Nm extra at its peak, delivering that increase exactly where it’s needed.
