The number of quantum states in the energy range between E and E+dE is denoted by g(E)dE and it is called density of states. Using the concept of classical statistical mechanics, the expression for density of states has been obtained and it found that it is proportional to the square root of energy of a molecule. Obtaining the value of number of molecules in the energy range between E and E+dE, the total energy of a system of perfect gas has been obtained from which its molar heat capacity has been obtained.
