We all need heroes and at the same time, we're all heroes for other people. When more people kind of like stand in that hero role and share their unique talents to help others, our world becomes a better place. Most people turn to something like YouTube or Google when they have a problem. They want to learn something and get their questions answered. So when we begin to create content that uplifts us, and we kind of feel that tug inside, other people will find that to be helpful, then we get to know our bit.

Content creators basically embrace that inner creator within them. I don't care if you're in quilting, knitting, you know, religion, like philosophy, like anything. But when everybody embraces that creator, we create connection points across the globe with people searching for help. And it really kind of could improve the quality of life for billions of humans I think when more people embrace it.
It's that whole kind of like writing is not to necessarily specifically communicate an idea. Oftentimes, writing is a process of discovery. It's a process of learning. And in my videos, I'm learning things deeper. I'm writing down processes more clearly when I go to teach it than I am when I just do it on my own.
4:42 How did you find your calling in life and embrace the fact that, yes, you can - and you ARE - a creator?
For a long time, I had this limiting belief that I'm not a creator. That I was behind the scenes guy. I was a numbers guy. I was a data geek. I ran the backend of my wife's website, which we started in 2009 but yet I felt off... Something was missing and I wanted to share what I knew because I've been playing this digital marketing game since the early 2000s and the late 1990s. So I've got a large body of knowledge and it was like it was literally gnawing at me and I was drinking a lot at that point in time in my life.
I was suppressing the internal calling to be more and do more, so I turned to chemicals. But once I just started letting it go and like, I don't even know where to start. I don't even know what I'm doing, but I'm going to start. I have to because I'm literally going to destroy myself if I don't let this that's in me out. And now that I've habituated that process, my life has evolved and changed in ways that I couldn't even have imagined a few years ago.
5:41 How do you become a content creator amongst all the challenges?
Creating content is not without its challenges. Trolls show up on YouTube and, and we just hit these tech challenges, but ultimately, like if you were to add it all up and sum it up and do some math equation, it's a massive net positive in my life.
And I think so many people can do this. You know, one YouTuber I love is the granny gamer, Shirley Curry. She's in her 80s, she plays these like hardcore PC games like Skyrim. And she has like 750,000 subscribers. She's got sponsors giving her these massive gaming computers and she's just videotaping herself and she loves it. She's having so much fun and there's these like young kids following her like, go, granny, go rooting her on. And it's just, there's so much awesomeness.
It's just living a more creative life expression I think. It's more fulfilling. It can be very lucrative once we kind of follow-through enough, but really I think it's more about the fulfillment than anything once you have overcome those fears, overcame those obstacles, those limiting beliefs and stuck to it.
Here's the thing, if it's in you, if it’s your passion and if it can create the kind of income you need and the lifestyle freedom you desire and you're helping people, why wouldn't you do it?
Allocate 2 hours to figure out this podcast thing or 2 hours to figure out this YouTube thing. And whenever it takes me less than 2 hours, whenever that time that I allocate for it, there is room in that available time that I have directed that I've dedicated for this self-sacrificing. Flex your content creator muscle and just get started!
