A quick Logic Pro tutorial on how you can use Logic's MIDI Transform "Humanize" function to add human feel to your midi drum grooves or midi instrument tracks.
When tapping out beats on drum pads or playing synths with a midi controller it is very common to quantize the midi information to snap it to the grid. This is very useful if your playing happens to be too far off beat or you have latency issues while recording midi.
The downside of quantization is that having your instruments and drums snapped to the grid removes all human elements from the performance (and track) and leaves you with a somewhat robotic sound due to everything being played back too perfectly. This midi trick can add that human feel back to your music without having to meticulously pull each individual midi note off of the grid to your liking.
