Microsoft Excel Tutorial: Shortcut for changing Macro Security.
Welcome to another episode of the MrExcel podcast, where we dive into all things Excel. In today's episode, we'll be discussing a handy shortcut for changing macro security in Excel. If you've ever been on the phone with someone who has never run macros before and you're trying to guide them through the process of changing macro security, you know how much of a hassle it can be to go through the File, Options, Trust Center, Trust Center Settings, and then Macro settings. But fear not, because I have a shortcut that will save you time and frustration.
Instead of going through all those steps, simply press Alt+T for Tim, M for Mary, and S for Sam. This will take you directly to the Macro settings dialog box, where you can easily disable macros without notification. This shortcut used to be even simpler in Excel 2003, where Alt+T would open the Tools menu, M would be for Macro, and S would be for security. So, whether you're a seasoned Excel user or just starting out, this shortcut will definitely come in handy.
But that's not all, there's another shortcut that can save you time when enabling add-ins in Excel. If you need to enable an add-in, such as Solver, simply go to File, Options, Add-ins, and click on the "Go" button in the lower left-hand corner. This will bring up a dialog box where you can select the add-ins you want to enable. However, there's an even faster way to get to this dialog box. Just press Alt+T for Tim, I for Irene, and check the box for Solver. This will save you from having to go through multiple steps and menus, making your Excel experience more efficient.
I hope these shortcuts will make your Excel tasks a little easier and save you some time. Thanks for tuning in to this episode of the MrExcel podcast. Don't forget to subscribe to our channel for more Excel tips and tricks. We'll see you next time for another netcast from MrExcel.
