DOOM VFR was not well received when it launched back in 2017, in fact it was actually a bit of a mess and to this day negative reviews pile up on Steam. Some reviews on Steam even claim it's the WORST VR GAME they've ever played... well I'm here to say it might be one of the BEST VR GAMES you'll ever play if you make a few changes to get it running like a proper DOOM VR experience. For some RIDICULOUS reason Bethesda missed out a bunch of key movement and VR control options for DOOM VFR, at launch it was genuinely awful, with no turning mechanic other than physical turning and teleport as the only form of locomotion, this release was filled with issues (it also looked blurry as hell, especially on PSVR). However thanks to some clever people DOOM VFR is now a fantastic experience that can be played on modern VR headsets (including Quest 2 wired or wireless) with smooth turning & smooth locomotion, when it all comes together it almost feels like the DOOM 2016 VR game I always wanted... I just wish it was longer...
Use the following guide to setup DOOM VFR Smooth Turning / DOOM VFR Quest 2 controls that completely change the experience of playing this poorly received VR shooter: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfile... - For me personally editing the configuration file with the two additional bindings did not enable the smooth turn option, if you encounter the same issue simply press the tilde / ` key whilst in game and copy the two bindings into the command console.
