NEW VR Mod Makes OLD Games Feel NEW! // AMONG THE SLEEP VR Gameplay (UUVR)
The Unity Universal VR mod is a brand new VR mod that aims to give players access to their Unity engine games in virtual reality, much like the UEVR mod which allows players to play their Unreal Engine games in VR. However the UUVR mod is still in very early development and I'm struggling to find many games that work very well with it... HOWEVER, Among The Sleep is currently the best VR experience I've had with UUVR and it shows just how great this software can be when it works. Among The Sleep is a cult classic horror game from 2014 that has players experience a nightmare world from the perspective of a baby. It's a fantastic candidate for a VR mod as you get to see the full scale and perspective of someone so small when everything is rendered so beautifully in VR, you really do feel TINY when walking around (or crawling around) Among The Sleep VR. I'm actually shocked there is no official Among The Sleep VR version or at the very least an unofficial Among The Sleep VR mod, it works so well and feels like an obvious candidate for a virtual reality port.
This Among The Sleep VR gameplay was captured on my 4090 VR ready PC with the Quest 3 connected via link cable, to achieve these results you'll need to download the UUVR mod OR the RaiPal mod loader (this is the easiest way to scan your library and install the UUVR mod into your Unity games) - https://github.com/Raicuparta/rai-pal
Fingers crossed the UUVR mod continues to improve because it shows great promise when it works, it just doesn't work with 80% of the games I've tested so far and it feels like it needs a little more time to cook.
