HITMAN 3 VR Reloaded Review // The Worst Version of a GREAT Game (Quest 3)
Hitman 3 VR Reloaded is potentially the ugliest Quest 3 game I have played to date. Remember Nintendo Wii ports of 360 & PS3 games? This feels like that. It's a low resolution, messy, jagged, poorly lit and often shocking to look at new VR version of Hitman 3 that originally set out to fix the issues that plagued the PSVR & PC VR versions but somehow ended up just creating more problems. Now I'm not saying Hitman 3 VR Reloaded isn’t fun, the core gameplay of Hitman 3 is here mostly intact and rebuilt for standalone VR, the level design, the freedom, the challenges, the cool assassinations, it’s all here… so if you can fight through the abysmal presentation you might occasionally catch yourself having a good time… but there’s no doubt in my mind that this should have released no earlier than February of 2025, Hitman 3 VR Reloaded needed at least 6 more months in the oven and this is one new Quest 3 game that I'd urge players to skip until at least a few large patches have improved the experience. Sadly Hitman 3 VR Reloaded will not be remembered amongst the best VR games of 2024...
This Hitman 3 VR Reloaded gameplay / Hitman 3 VR Reloaded Quest 3 gameplay was captured natively on the Quest 3 and represents the current experience you can expect to have with the game. The first patch is due any day now but I feel like we'll need more than just one patch to salvage this VR Hitman game...
