One of the first things you need to know about exercising to lose fat is you have to make sure you aren’t eating back the extra calories you are burning through training. That means you need some form of calorie tracking or portion control in place.

After this exercise variety is vital in aiding recovery and preventing overuse injuries. Priority should be given to resistance training as it burns as many calories as moderate-intensity exercise and protects your lean muscle mass, ensuring the weight lost is fat and not muscle.
