We are at Mount Athos, the Autonomous Monastic State of the Holy Mountain, a self-governed part of Greece located on the Athos peninsula in Chalkidiki, Macedonia.
The film opens with views of the area from a boat where the filmmaker is located, and of the Dochiariou Monastery. We see the bell tower and the Monastery of Saint Panteleimon, along with a brief shot of the surrounding scenery. The footage continues with what is likely the Konstamonitou Monastery and the coastline. The camera lingers on a pier with moored fishing boats and two elderly men talking to a priest.
Next, we return to Dochiariou Monastery, where the camera provides a panoramic view of the sea and the coastal buildings. The camera focuses on a ship carrying passengers and offers views of Mount Athos from the boat, as well as shots from the deck.
The film closes with views of the mountainous terrain of Athos, the Gregoriou Monastery, and the Simonopetra Monastery.
