Microsoft Excel Tutorial - Drawing and Formatting Arrows in Excel.
Welcome back to another episode of the MrExcel netcast! In today's video, we're going to dive into the powerful yet often overlooked Drawing toolbar in Excel. By going to View, Toolbars, and turning on the Drawing toolbar, you can access a variety of tools to enhance your spreadsheets.
I've moved my Drawing toolbar to the top of the screen for easier viewing, but it typically appears at the bottom of the screen. Let's take a closer look at the toolbar and how we can use it to draw arrows on our worksheet. Simply click where you want the arrow to start, drag to where you want it to end, and release. This will create a basic, plain arrow.
But why settle for a boring arrow when we can use the buttons on the Drawing toolbar to customize it? You can change the color, width, and even create a dashed arrow. And if those options aren't enough, you can right-click and choose Format, AutoShape to have complete control over the arrow's style and appearance.
One important setting to note is to make sure the arrow moves and resizes with the cells. This way, if you adjust the width of a column, the arrow will automatically adjust to fit the area. This is a great way to add visual interest to your spreadsheets and draw attention to specific cells.
So, don't overlook the Drawing toolbar in Excel. It's a great tool for adding elements to your spreadsheets and making them more visually appealing. Thanks for tuning in to this netcast from MrExcel. Don't forget to subscribe to our channel for more helpful Excel tips and tricks. See you next time!
