On MacOS Mojave, continuity has a new feature. You can now use your iPhone’s camera to quickly scan a document and import it into your mac.

To do so in Finder, right click anywhere and choose Import from iPhone - Scan Documents. Your iPhone will wake up and open the camera app. Now position your iPhone at a document. The document shouldn’t occupy the entire screen. Once the iPhone detects the document it will automatically take a picture. You can then drag the corners to adjust the selection and then press Keep Scan. You can also either retake the scan or manually press the shutter button and then adjust the selection. Once you tap Keep Scan the document will be imported into Finder.

Once you tap Keep Scan the document will be imported into Finder as a pdf document.

This feature is also available in many other apps such as Numbers, Pages, Notes, Mail and much more.

Do you scan documents often?
