Forgotten: Sweeping wildfires in the summer 2023
In the summer of 2021, 299 forest fires broke out in 53 cities, including Antalya, Muğla and Adana. We remembered the videos shared by Şahan Gökbakar and the images of people who lost their homes in the fires. We also stopped discussing the reasons why we failed to prevent the fires from growing last year in regions like Marmaris, Manavgat, Bodrum and Adana.
In our ""Forgotten?"" video series, we go to the experts of the issues that are on the social agenda for a short period of time, and then disappear after a while, and ask whether any policy changes have been made in the past period. In this episode, we asked Prof. Doğanay Tolunay from Istanbul University Faculty of Forestry whether new steps have been taken in the fight against forest fires.
