Enable/Disable International Transactions/Usage on Debit/ATM Card using Net Banking
In this video we will learn how you can Enable or Disable International Transactions or Usage on your Debit/ATM Card using your Net Banking account?
The facility can be considered highly useful for those who'd like to travel to foreign countries and want to use their ATM card in ATM machines there for withdrawing cash in some other currency. After enabling International transactions, you can also use your debit card on various foreign Point of Sale (POS) Terminals for shopping using swipe feature or EMV CHIP technology.
Also if you'd like to make transactions on international shopping websites using your Indian Debit Card, then it is necessary to enable International Usage on your card as shown in the video.
Follow these steps in order to do so:
1. Login to your net banking account and look for an option that says "Set International / Domestic Usage" under Debit/ATM card.
2. On the next page select the card for which you'd like to set international/domestic usage.
3. Now select any one of the following 2 options as per your requirements:
Card to be enabled for Domestic Use (at merchant outlets, ATMs, Online Indian Websites).
Card to be enabled for International and Domestic Use (At domestic & international merchant outlets, ATMs & Online Websites)
4. If you want then you can also disable International Usage by selecting the first option i.e. "Card to be enabled for Domestic Use (at merchant outlets, ATMs, Online Indian Websites)"
Note: Keep in mind that Domestic NRO Debit cards cannot be enabled for International Usage under no circumstances.
