In this video we talk about State Bank of India's land purchase scheme whose aim is to assist small/marginal farmers as well as land less labourers of agricultural sector so that they can purchase a land of their own.
Some important things that you should know about this scheme:
1. Small & Marginal Farmers owning less than 5 acres of unirrigated or 2.5 acres of irrigated land in their own names, can avail this loan.
2. Landless agricultural labourers can also avail this loan.
3. As a borrower you should have a record of prompt repayment of the loan for at least two years.
4. The loan amount which will be given to you will be 85% of the cost of the land - The assessment procedure will be done by the bank, subject to maximum of Rs 5 lakhs Security.
5. This loan also has Provision of irrigation facilities & land development. However keep in mind that this shall not exceed 50% of the total cost of the land.
6. This type of loan also have provision for Purchase of farm equipment.
7. The land which you are going to purchase will be mortgaged.
8. Gestation period will be maximum of 1 year for developed land and 2 years for the land which is not yet developed.
