Moments of The Coast // OG Osmo Pocket 1 Cinematic
In my opinion the OG Osmo Pocket 1 still produces the best-looking and most cinema-like image! With its less wide-angle field of view (around 27mm focal length), medium to wide shots are achievable, making it more versatile for shooting images with a certain cinematic quality to them. This is why I continue to film with it and have no desire to switch to the Pocket 3.
In my experience, the Pocket 1 is less a vlogging camera and more a portable filmmaking tool. The image also appears less digital and slightly softer than the newer Pocket 3 camera, which has a larger 1 inch sensor and much wider field of view of 20mm. With such a wide field of view, subjects can often get lost in the distance. For this reason, I much prefer to shoot landscapes and people in landscapes with focal lengths of between 24mm and 28mm.
I hope you enjoy this series of shots I cut together, filmed along the coast of Australia with the Pocket 1 and Mini 2. I still really enjoy shooting with the Pocket 1 so I hope to keep creating content with it well into the future!
