Russian Level B2, Level C1
This text is about a young man's experience in learning the Turkish language. Before deciding to move to Antalya, he did thorough research on Turkey's history and modern life to determine if it was the right country for him. He also learned Turkish because he believes it's important to know the language when living in a foreign country.
Currently, he can understand and read Turkish at a B1 level, but his speaking skills are at an A2 level. However, he continues to actively study the language. He divided his learning experience into four parts:
1. He started with YouTube video tutorials and found a channel by Anastasia Pektash that he still follows. He began with the Turkish alphabet, then moved on to grammar and vocabulary using flashcards.
2. Realizing the need for guidance and correction, he started taking classes with a tutor. This helped him improve his pronunciation and understand Turkish phonetics.
3. Through his travels and friendships in Turkey, he had the opportunity for live communication with native speakers. He suggests finding native speakers for conversation practice, either in person or through language exchange platforms.
4. He also accumulated various textbooks, dictionaries, grammar aids, and exercise books. As he progressed, he started reading fiction books in Turkish, starting with familiar works like "The Lord of the Rings" and "Harry Potter."
He concludes by encouraging others to believe in themselves and practice consistently, as language learning is rewarding.
