Why Is My WiFi So Slow?
Are you suffering from SLOW WIFI? The default settings could be hurting you! I'll show you how to optimize your home network WiFi!
1. Download the WiFi Analyzer app on your Android device (phone, tablet, Chromebook, etc). iPhone users can search for WiFi Analyzer or Network Analyzer and find another app that does something similar.
2. OPTIONAL STEP IF YOUR APP IS NOT WORKING = You may have to DISCONNECT from your WiFi (but leave it turned on) in order for the app to detect all the networks.
3. Observe what channels all the WiFi routers are on. Note where YOUR network is.
4. NO TOUCHY-TOUCHY! Remember you don't want your network to be touching any other networks on the graph. TOUCHING IS BAD. TOUCHING MEANS INTERFERENCE! If it's impossible to find an open space, then you want to overlap with as FEW networks as possible. This is VERY HARD if not IMPOSSIBLE on the 2.4GHz network. It shouldn't be too hard on the 5GHz network.
5. Login to your router and go to the wireless settings.
6. Select the new channel you have chosen by inspecting the WiFi Analyzer graph.
7. Apply/save the settings and go back to check the WiFi Analyzer to make sure you are not overlapping any other networks.
8. Enjoy! Maybe come back to check every once in a while to make sure no new networks have popped up to interfere with yours.
