The Developing Mathematical Thinking Institute (DMTI) has developed the five dimensions of the Developing Mathematical Thinking (DMT) framework, a professional development programme for teachers and other educators. This is a multi-year professional development programme for improving math instruction. It involves building on students’ ideas, encouraging problem-solving, and strengthening mathematical vocabulary, ultimately solidifying concepts and increasing achievement by communicating mathematically.
