WiFi Tethering is a hot topic between consumers and services providers(some), such as AT&T who think it is sane to charge people $15 extra a month to allow consumers to use there already paid for data on another device through tethering. This is why rooting Android devices is such a priority for most, especially in the so called “underground scene” in the Android community.
most of the time we would need a 3rd party application to enable this feature, but for most samsung devices a simple root and flashing of rooted stock rom should be enough. You can then open up your settings and enable either a wifi hotspot or a USB tether.
I suggest the USB tether when at all possible since it will also charge your mobile device that is producing the mobile hotspot. This can take a lot of battery life so that is why I mainly suggest this route over a straight WiFi tether.
