Perpendicular Bisector. Construction of perpendicular bisector on a line segment. Std 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10
How to draw perpendicular bisector on a line segment?
First, draw the line segment, with scale and pencil. Let this line segment be A B.
Then take a pencil compass. Stretch it to more than half of the line segment. Draw a large circular arc from that end. After this, move the pencil compass to the other end. From there, draw another large circle segment of same radius. Let these two segments cross each other, at points, x and y.
There after, with the scale and the pencil, the points x and y are connected. This x y line segment is the perpendicular bisector of A B.
The two segments are A Z and Z B. Let us check the lengths of them. Okey. So A Z is 6.1 centimeter. And Z B is also 6.1 centimeter. Perfect!
Hope you understood the method. Try it yourself on your notebook. And tell us, if you got the perfect segment size.
