When you open a demat account with any DP, it comes with a trading account as well.
Ask for username and password for both your demat and trading accounts from your DP. These details should always be kept with you. Using these details you will be able to access both your trading and demat accounts via the internet.
A trading account is generally used to buy and sell shares in the stock market. By default, you should be getting your trading account with your demat account. However keep in mind that both DEMAT account and trading account are different from each other. A Demat Account contains the details of all your shares/securities/investment that are in your name, while a trading account allows you to buy and sell shares only.
