Semi-Active Radar Homing Missiles are know for their limitations. Radar lock must be kept all the time, you can't attack more than one target at once. But can you launch more than one missile at the same target to increase kill probability? A viewer of this channel and a former Tomcat RIO say you can't because you will lose the lock and the previous missile will just go stupid.
But on the other hand, there are many historic accounts where USAF, USN and Israeli pilots launched multiple Sparrow missiles at a target and often it resulted in all the missiles guiding and hitting. Such cases are recorded in the period between 1960s and early 1990s.
How is it simulated in DCS World? Is there any difference between Flaming Cliffs 3 and high-fidelity modules? This video will show you.
