The story of Montana’s expansive 13,000-mile network of highways and the year-round job of engineering, building, and maintain the state’s roads, highways, and bridges. The film defines the different road systems, details the differences of terrain, as well as the problems faced by engineers in designing and building the roads.
The original production was made in 1966 for a premier before the International Road Federation in London England and was revised in 1967 for use as an informational tool on the Montana Highway Department and Montana’s highway program throughout Montana. The film won a CINE Golden Eagle Award in 1968. (collection MOV 0063)
