This is a walktrough video I capture of Chuch St Gregory located in Ani Ruins, Kars / Turkey. It's one of the most well preserved religious structures located in Ani, however the interior frescos and parts of the building are damaged / eroded. Despite all of this it has an inherent beauty of characteristic medieval Armenian Architectural style.
Below is a brief information about the structure.
St. Gregory of Tigran Honents is one of the remarkable medieval churches in the ruins of Ani, located in the present-day province of Kars, Turkey. This church, dedicated in 1215, is named after its patron, Tigran Honents, who was a wealthy merchant from Ani. It is renowned for its extensive and well-preserved frescoes that cover much of the interior walls, providing a vivid glimpse into the artistic and religious expressions of the time. These frescoes depict scenes from the life of Christ and the saints, making the church an important repository of Christian iconography in the region. Architecturally, the church features a cross-in-square design typical of the period, with a central dome and four supporting columns. The church's historical and artistic significance, coupled with its state of preservation, makes it a key highlight among Ani's ancient architectural treasures.
