I got a comment that I've received several times before about the noise floor of the miniDSP unit I use - the 4x10HD. As I show in the video, there isn't a measurable increase in the ambient noise in my listening room at my listening position with the unit switched on.
Of course the noise demo also shows the noise floor of my amplifiers - all four of them were on (10 channel amp, side speakers 2 channel, super tweeter 2 channel and subwoofer amp that 4 channel).
That's a total of 18 individual drivers (subs, woofers, midranges, tweeters and super tweeters) being driven my 18 channels of amplification - amps I designed and built myself. All happening in a fairly small room - just 14' x 14'.
So if there were a significant noise problem with the DSP or any of the components used, it would definitely show up in this test. And that's especially true now that I've added the very high sensitivity super tweeters that are just 48" from my listening position.
