So you can literally make decent quality music on a phone and after trying out a ton of apps, I think the guys from Native Instruments definitely nailed it with iMaschine for the iPhone. I'll be honest, I actually made this video about 5 years ago and thought I'd throw it up here since I launched my channel and all that jazz so iMaschine has for sure gotten many improvements since the iPhone 4?
Basically I looped a few 8 bar loops, 16 bar loops and 1 32 bar loop. Wanting to make a "performance" out of it, I did my best to keep the flow of recording and building onto the beat smooth and congruent with the beat itself which, after 15 or so tries to get it all in one take, I think it's fairly smooth.
Sorry for the crappy quality of the Hero 2 and the much outdated iMaschine app on the iPhone 4 but hope you enjoyed the track either way. Although I love creating music and recording from time to time, I am far from taking it seriously so please don't think this is my debut in the least, I was just into playing around with the app at the time and decided to make a little project out of it.
Check out the app, it's not that much and it really does have tons of high resolution audio samples and sounds to choose from and even more to purchase from the in-app-store. You'll have some fun making iPhone beats maybe.
See you next time!
