It's been over a year and a half since Intel launched their ARC A770 graphics card and a lot has happened in that time. I first took a look at the VR performance of the ARC A770 in February of 2023 just a few short months after it's release and at that time I very quickly learned Meta did NOT support Intel's ARC graphics cards, as the Quest Link software did not recognize my A770. In the end I had to use a 3rd party application called Virtual Desktop by Guy Godin to play any PC VR games and even then I was met with varying degrees of success. The games in my Oculus/Meta library worked, however none of my SteamVR games did. Since that time Intel has made major strides with their drivers when it comes to playing 'flat games' which made me curious to find out what, if any, improvements those driver optimizations may have made for VR? So here we go; it's time we give the VR performance of the ARC A770 an updated look.
