BinBok Quest 2/Quest 3 Hot Swappable Battery Head Strap Review - • To Infinity and Beyond! | BinBok Ques...

I love everything about my T2 and T3 Hot Swappable Battery Headstraps for the Quest 2 and Quest 3 from BinBok VR except for one thing... the adjustment gear. I own three of these headstraps and the size adjustment gear works differently on all of them. My Quest 3 strap works perfectly. When I tighten it down, it stays tightened down, when I loosen it, it stays at the setting I left it it at. My two Quest 2 head straps on the other hand do not function this way. One of them tightens down just fine, but after loosening it, if I don't hold it by the back of the strap it will automatically cinch down on itself. My other Quest 2 head strap doesn't lock in place at all! You can cinch it down and loosen it by simply pushing and pulling on the head strap; you don't have to use the adjustment wheel at all. When you put this particular strap on your head if you adjust your headset at all after tightening it, it loosens and you have to tighten it again, and as you play it slowly loosens which is super annoying. Well to make a long story short I decided to take all my headstraps apart, find out how they work and see if there was anything I could do to fix it and as you surely read in the video title, I was able to 3D print a new, upgraded adjustment gear for my BinBok VR T2 and T3 head straps and now they work flawlessly. In this video I teach you how these adjustment gears work, why mine were malfunctioning and how I fixed them. This video is super niche and I know there may be very few people this video will even be of use to. For those few of you though that this video will help, I'm happy you were able to find it and I hope you can use the information in it to get your head strap working properly. I made this video because I love learning how things work as well as fixing things and creating things and this little project just ticked all the boxes for me and I really wanted to share it. Anyway, thanks for learning with me and I hope you enjoy.
