LET Function is math function in which requires you to define a variable, give it value then define formula to calculate the relationship between the values assigned to the variable. This function takes three arguments: one is where you would define the variable, second is where you assign a value to the variable and finally the third is where you define the formula containing those variables in a defined relationship. The output in number format.
This example explains on how to use LET function for a simple problem whereby we defined two variable and assigned them two values in separate arguments. Then finally we defined a formula expressing relationship between those variables for our desired output.
There are two benefits associated with this function:
Performance Improvement: If the same expression is written multiple times in a formula, Excel calculates that result multiple times. LET permits you to call the expression by name and for Excel to calculate it once.
Reading and Composition Ease: Now you don't have to remember what a specific range or cell reference referred to. Also what your calculation was going through or copy/pasting the same expression. With the ability to define name variables, you can give meaningful context to your expression and the variables in your formula.
