INT Function is math function in Excel that returns the integer part of a decimal number by rounding down to the integer. However, the negative numbers tend to move away from zero and rounds off to the next number away from zero. For example, while INT(10.8) returns 10, INT(-10.8) returns -11.
This example explains on how to use INT function for a simple problem whereby a range of number is given in one column. The INT( ) function in the corresponding column returns the integer value of the reference numeric expression and adjusts the value to an integer, whole-valued positive or negative number or 0.
