In this video, I show an easy way to use JavaFX 11 with JDK 11. This approach uses Gradle to manage dependencies so that you do not have to manually download the JavaFX runtime components, nor do you have to fiddle with environment variables or JVM flags: Gradle's JavaFXPlugin manages all of that for us.
