Black Friday - The 107 Panzer Brigade Attacks Veghel
For the 101st Airborne Division during Operation Market Garden, Friday September 22nd 1944 became known as Black Friday. The Germans launched a big counter attack with the aim to destroy the bridges at Veghel. The Allies were able to prevent that but the Germans were able to block the corridor, the lifeline to Nijmegen, for over a full day.
