Hello everyone.
I was so eager to see the difference in performance between 4070 Super and 4070 Ti, that I decided to emulate RTX 4070 Super and compare it to the real 4070 Ti.
The role of so-called "emulated 4070 Super" was performed by 4070 Ti, which is Palit GameRock (non-OC) version.
According to Digital Foundry, there is a simple formula to count TFLOPS.
TFLOPS = (Boost clock core frequency in MHz X CUDA cores count X 2)/1000000
According to the rumored specs (you can find them on Techpowerup website), RTX 4070 Super will have 2475 MHz boost clock and 7168 shading units (CUDA cores), while RTX 4070 Ti has 2610 MHz boost clock and 7680 shading units. It's TDP will be 220W.
RTX 4070 Ti: (2610 X 7680 X 2)/1000000 = 40,09 TFLOPS
RTX 4070 Super: (2475 X 7168 X 2)/1000000 = 35,48 TFLOPS
VRAM configuration of both cards will be the same: 192 bit bus and 12 GB of GDDR6X 21000 MHz. So I did not change any memory settings.
Take a note that these are not 100% true results, as different GPUs can provide slightly different results (due to factory overclock, difference in temperatures, size of heatsink etc.).
I am using Palit GameRock (non-OC) version. So my "4070" results reflect an approximate level of performance of future non-OC 4070 Super cards.
