BMW Supra Updates, Cyber Truck Woes, Nissan GTR Discontinued, and EV is not the future. Janky News.
In yet another new format for the channel, we’re taking a shot at covering news from around the automotive industry. In this episode we talk about the 2025 Toyota Supra dropping the 4 cylinder option, the continued issues and recalls with the Tesla Cybertruck, the Nissan GTR being discontinued, the 2025 Dodge Charger, and the struggles of trying to transition from internal combustion to electric.
Here’s some more context on each subject:
-BMW Supra - We may or may not spend a few minutes ranting about how much Toyota dropped the ball by letting BMW build the mk5 supra. We also cover the fact that Toyota is dropping the 4 cylinder option, and why it was a stupid option to begin with when you compare to competitors like the Ford mustang.
Tesla Cyber Truck - Not gonna lie, we basically trash talk the Cybertruck and all the owners who keep trying to make it sound like this thing is awesome. From throttle pedals sticking and body panels coming loose, to looking like it was drawn by a 5 year old and breaking people’s fingers, we’re clearly not fans of the cyber truck.
Nissan GTR - It’s crazy that the GTR has been around for something like 17 years, but evidently all good things must come to an end. This thing was basically a Nissan supercar and laid the smackdown on cars like the Corvette Z06, the Porsche 911, and the Dodge Viper. Unfortunately it started to feel a little dated towards the end, but RIP to an awesome car.
-The 2025 Dodge Charger - The current generation of the Dodge Challenger and Charger has officially come to an end. We take a few shots at takeovers since these things were so frequently used to do donuts in the middle of interstates and to run over crowds of people. We cover some basic details about the new charger, including the shift from the Hemi V8 to a twin turbo straight 6. Dodge is also trying to push a fully EV version.
-The Struggles of EV - We don’t hate EV, but we do hate how much these things are being forcibly jammed down our throats due to government regulation. There is a serious lack of infrastructure in the US, and EVs are basically a less convenient version of internal combustion. It’s great that they’re potentially more environmentally friendly, until they meet the basic functionality of modern day cars we say pass.
