By mixing a slow shutter speed with a flash, you can create interesting portraits in the studio. In this episode, Mark Wallace explains how to “drag the shutter” to expose ambient light while using rear curtain sync to freeze motion – all at the same time. Mark creates interesting portraits by blurring his LED Pavotubes with a slow shutter and freezing his model with a Speedlight.
