Let’s say you’ve deleted some important files from a local hard drive partition and the Recycle Bin has been emptied. It seems that these files are permanently deleted, however, they are just being hidden from view in order to be overwritten.
Now let's start recovering deleted files.
Step 1. Download and install the recovery software.
To recover permanently deleted files for free, we recommend using CuteRecovery Free (formerly EassosRecovery Free). You can install it easily on your Windows computer and recover all types of deleted files from either internal or external drives.

Step 2. Choose a data scanning mode on the home screen.
When you open the software, you are presented with the screen where you are shown four data recovery modes. Choose the recovery mode based on the data loss situation.
Step 3. Select the drive from which you want to recover data and click the "Next" button.
As soon as you click the "Next" button, it will start a detailed and full scanning for lost files on the drive. How much time it will take totally depends on the partition size and the amount of data deleted.
Step 4. View and check lost files.
After the scan is complete, you can sort and see lost files according to their path or file type.
Double-click a file and you can preview file content to check if it is the one you want to recover and if it is damaged.
Step 5. Select files and folders you want to recover and click the "Recover" button.
Step 6. Specify a location where you want to store the recovered data.
Keep in mind that the destination location must be different from the drive where files are being recovered.
