"Der Offene Aufsmarsch"- East German Anti-American Song
The original version, "Der Heimliche Aufsmarsch" (The Secret Deployment), was a German anti-fascist song which was popularised by Hanns Eisler, who arranged the song, and Ernst Busch, who sang it. It was originally a poem written by Erich Weinert. A new version, "Der Offene Aufsmarsch" (The Open Deployment), was made 1957 to suit the Cold War and had a heavy anti-NATO and anti-war sentiment, despite being a NVA song.
