This video commemorates the tens of millions of Soviet people and soldiers who died fighting against Nazism, and contributed greatly to ending the Second World War (better known as the Great Patriotic War in Russia and other post-Soviet states) in Europe.
This song is about Marshal Zhukov, the commander who played an instrumental role in Germany's defeat in WW2, commanding the 1st Belorussian Front, and participated in numerous battles including the Battle of Berlin, and served as the governor for the Soviet occupation zone of Germany. He would later go on to serve as the Minister for Defense in 1955. He was also one of the only two people, and the first person, to receive four "Hero of the Soviet Union" awards, which was the highest distinction in the Soviet Union. He was known for his love of medals. He was later relieved of his duties and passed away on the 18th of June, 1974.
