The US military first started dabbling with night vision and infrared technology around the World War II time frame. Other countries had been experimenting even before then. The US military first implemented the M3 night, scope system during the end of World War II. After that, the technology started improving and eventually the military adopted the Army/ Navy Portable Visual Search. Today, these are seen as somewhat outdated because of their weight and bulkiness. The starlight scope uses the moonlight or surrounding light at night to hyper illuminate the image through the scope. This scope that I found on what a country is an Israeli surplus one and, since I have MI6 retro and MI4, I decided that it might fit in with that genre so I ordered it… and this is the unboxing.
