How to Read Technical Literature 📚
Struggling with reading technical books? Focusing on specific chapters or topics can be the best approach, but what if you want to read the whole book? Here’s a strategy that works.
The most obvious thought is to read a certain number of pages per day. I tried this for a long time, especially with “Thinking in Java”. The problem? You never know how much time it’ll take. Sometimes it took me an hour, sometimes four, because some topics were difficult and required additional research.
My solution? Set a time limit. I aim to read for an hour a day. Whether I read 20 pages, 10, or even just 5—it doesn’t matter. When the time is up, I’ve accomplished my goal. Consistency is key, and eventually, you’ll finish the book.
