What Happened To My NFL Career⁉️
When I was a student-athlete at UCLA, I almost lost my life to a rare condition known as Aspergillosis. While in the hospital, doctors told me I was going to die because of the disease. Of the 12 people diagnosed with the condition, 8 had lost their lives. The other 4 recovered but later passed away as well.
But as I lay on my deathbed, I knew I had a higher purpose. I strategically requested a room overlooking the football field and envisioned myself practicing with my teammates. Despite what the doctors said, I knew I’d recover from my illness and play football again… and I did.
Every time I had a goal, including going pro, I spoke it into existence, worked as hard as physically and mentally possible by developing a formula for success, and it came true. I had to motivate myself to get better, beat the odds to fight for my life, and get back on the field again no matter what.
