This is the production line of New Volkswagen Caddy Production Line in Poland.
The start of Caddy 5 production at the factory in Pozna coincided with the facility's spectacular growth and considerable expenditures in the upgrading of manufacturing processes. During normal Caddy 4 manufacturing, all preparation work for the new model range was completed. The plant's premises were merged into the Volkswagen factory in Pozna over the two years leading up to the start of Caddy 5 production, upgrading and renovating the road infrastructure in the area. The major focus of the investment was on the new welding area, which now includes over 450 robots, bringing the plant's degree of automation to 80 percent. Welding on the units has primarily been done by hand up until recently. Volkswagen Pozna reports the building of a new 46,000-square-meter logistics facility.
Regular manufacturing methods, comparable to today's contemporary, efficient facilities, combine human employees at numerous assembly sites with autonomous robots.
Because the new VW plant is close to the city center of Poznan, the authorities decided to restrict one roadway inside the new hall. This is an unusual arrangement, but it demonstrates Volkwagen's and the city government's solid working relationship.
