2022 Lexus NX Production in Japan (Miyata Plant)

The Lexus NX has been fully revamped for the 2022 model year, and it's set to create even more waves in the small luxury SUV sector, particularly with the addition of a new plug-in hybrid type.

The second-generation NX has a more aggressive appearance than the first. The front grille has been redesigned, and it is now more upright and larger, with a mesh pattern that produces a great 3D look. By the way, each trim level has its unique variety.

Full-width taillights, as seen on the IS and UX, are seen in the back. The lost "L" logo has been replaced with new "LEXUS" writing in the centre of the liftgate, which is also noticeable.

The new Lexus Interface has a driver-oriented 9.8-inch or optional 14.1-inch center touchscreen. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are both remotely compatible with the infotainment system. The cockpit is completed with a seven-inch digital instrument panel and an optional 10-inch head-up display, both of which are NX firsts.

A new Virtual Assistant is also available to interact with the infotainment system. It has two microphones, increased noise-cancellation, seat detection, and speaker placement capabilities, allowing you to access navigation, media, phone, and some car settings with your voice alone.
A wireless smartphone charger and over-the-air software upgrades are two more technologies offered.

Two gasoline variants and two hybrid types are available for the Lexus NX in 2022. The first has a 2.5-litre naturally aspirated engine that makes 203 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. It goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.8 seconds when equipped with an eight-speed gearbox and all-wheel drive.

The NX 350 2.4 Turbo is a brand-new and thrilling addition, with 275 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque. It accelerates from 0-100 km/h in seven seconds, according to Lexus, thanks to the same eight-speed gearbox and AWD system.

Customers who want a hybrid powertrain may choose for the NX 350h (previously known as NX 300h), which has 239 horsepower and can reach triple-digit speeds in 7.4 seconds from a standstill. Meanwhile, the total fuel consumption of 6.5 L/100 km is a 1.0 L/100 km reduction over the previous generation.

The new NX 450h+ plug-in hybrid is the last but certainly not least. It has the same 302 horsepower as the Toyota RAV4 Prime and a range of around 58 kilometers in electric mode.
