A few new developments have surfaced since this video was posted 3 years ago, some of which are also outlined in the comments below.

Two equivalent flyback transformers from HR DIEMEN now exist: HR 46162 and HR 46323, and seem to be relatively inexpensive. A user on 68kMLA posted a guide on their process for replacing the flyback:

Happy holidays! Well, this could be called a preview video to my next vintage Mac...

Hooked up to a B&W Power Macintosh G3, I have a 17-inch Apple Studio Display CRT, which appears to be having flyback transformer issues. I should mention, when I press the power button to turn it on, there is an alarming static noise when, along with crackling and popping, and some visual indications of all of that as there are some brief flashes from the screen. At this point, I am aware that this problem is not going to be easy to fix, but I'll post this anyways in case others may be dealing with an issue like this, or if someone has a suggestion that doesn't require risking getting zapped with 15,000 volts!
