This is my recently acquired 15 inch PowerBook G4, along with the Mighty Mouse that I use with my MacBook. This PowerBook G4 was the top of the line model in 2004, with a 1.5 GHz PowerPC G4 processor. This one was upgraded to 1 GB of RAM. I did say "maxed out," but in the post edit I realized it wasn't.

The PowerBook G4 (12, 15, and 17 inch) was the MacBook Pro of the PowerPC era. So, this was their pro-level notebook at the time.

This PowerBook and the Mighty Mouse both have an interesting story behind them: they were both tossed in the trash! My dad's friend's friend, saw the computer and the mouse in the trash (in the condition they were in), and he couldn't just let them sit there to be picked up and crushed in the trash truck, especially since both devices are fully functioning. So he took it home, relayed the information to my dad's friend, and then my dad's friend told me about this.

Quite a survival story for a computer, eh? :)

Price when new: $2499 (1.5 GHz G4, 512 MB of RAM, 80 GB HDD, SuperDrive, AirPort Extreme Card)
"The New PowerBook G4 Family. G4 processor speeds up to 1.5 GHz, better graphics, 4x DVD Burning and AirPort Extreme standard."
